Made in-house, from herb to bag
We blend and pack every tea bag ourselves at our Leicestershire premises. We start from whole or cut organic herbs, blend to our own recipes or pack single herbs straight, and bag them using a biodegradable, GMO-free unwoven filter mesh with paper outer packaging — no staples, no unnecessary wrapping.
The range covers the herbs we use most: chamomile, peppermint, ginger, lemongrass, hibiscus, rooibos, echinacea, nettle and lemon verbena, alongside blends including our Organic Herbal Chai, Racy Hibiscus and Ginger and Lemongrass. All are Soil Association certified organic under our licence DA25511.
About the tea bags
Our tea bags use a biodegradable, GMO-free unwoven filter mesh. The outer packaging is paper. [BIODEGRADABLE TIMEFRAME NEEDED — e.g. "The filter mesh breaks down in roughly X weeks in home compost, depending on conditions" — confirm before publishing: CMA Green Claims Code requires a specific qualifier, not just "biodegradable".]
If you'd like more detail on the filter mesh, allergen information or certifications for a specific tea, drop us a line — we're happy to share the specifics.
Brewing guide
Brewing times vary by herb. As a starting guide:
- Chamomile, lemon verbena, lemongrass: 4–6 minutes in freshly boiled water.
- Peppermint, hibiscus, nettle: 3–5 minutes.
- Ginger, ginger and lemongrass, herbal chai: 5–7 minutes for a fuller flavour. These blends also work well with a splash of oat or almond milk.
- Rooibos: 5–6 minutes. Naturally sweet and unfussy — it won't turn bitter if you leave it a little longer.
- Echinacea: 5 minutes. This is a robust herb; don't hurry it.
Cover the cup while it steeps to keep the volatile oils in the brew rather than the air.
Frequently asked questions
- Are the tea bags biodegradable?
- Yes. Our tea bags use a biodegradable, GMO-free unwoven filter mesh in paper outer packaging. [BIODEGRADABLE TIMEFRAME NEEDED — add composting conditions/timeframe before publishing.]
- How many tea bags are in each box?
- Pack sizes vary by product — check the individual product page for the quantity. Most come in packs of 20 or 40.
- Can I reuse a tea bag?
- You can steep most bags twice, though the second brew will be lighter. Ginger, rooibos and echinacea hold up best to a second cup.
- Do you also sell loose leaf versions?
- We do — most of these teas are available in loose leaf format too. Loose leaf works out better value per cup and gives you more control over strength. Browse our loose leaf herbal tea collection for the full range.
