We have two types of plastic-free packaging: pouches made from 100% paper and aluminium tins that are washable, reusable, and infinitely recyclable. Packaging plays a crucial role in our daily lives, protecting products and enabling safe transportation. However, plastic packaging has significantly contributed to the global plastic pollution crisis. Choosing paper and aluminium packaging instead of plastic has several environmental benefits; here are a few:
  1. Recyclable and Biodegradable: Paper and aluminium packaging are recyclable and biodegradable, making them more environmentally friendly than plastic. Paper packaging can be recycled multiple times, while aluminium can be infinitely recycled. Additionally, paper and aluminium packaging decompose naturally, avoiding the environmental hazards associated with plastic waste.
  2. Reduced Carbon Footprint: Paper and aluminium packaging production requires less energy and emits fewer greenhouse gases than plastic. The carbon footprint of paper packaging is up to 50% lower than that of plastic packaging, while aluminium production requires up to 95% less energy than plastic. This results in lower greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to efforts to mitigate climate change.
  3. Sustainable Forest Management: The production of paper packaging often involves sustainably managed forests, which help to sequester carbon, maintain biodiversity, and support local communities. Sustainable forest management ensures that forests are protected from illegal logging and deforestation, which are significant contributors to climate change.
  4. Reduced plastic Pollution: Choosing paper and aluminium packaging over plastic helps reduce the amount of plastic waste in landfills and oceans. This helps reduce pollution and protects wildlife harmed by ingesting plastic waste.
Choosing our paper and aluminium packaging over plastic has several environmental benefits. We can move towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future by reducing plastic pollution, promoting sustainable forest management, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
