About our herbal teas
Ian and Aon started The Natural Health Market in 2011, after two decades living and travelling across South East Asia, Bali and Europe. In those years, herbal teas were a daily habit — drunk in kitchens, roadside stalls and local markets across the region. When we set up the business, building a herbal tea range felt like the obvious place to start: we already knew which herbs we reached for and which we trusted.
Everything in this collection is Soil Association certified organic under our licence DA25511. Most teas are blended and packed in-house at our Leicestershire premises, from herbs sourced directly from organic growers across Europe, Asia and East Africa.
What's in the range
The collection runs from everyday single herbs — chamomile, peppermint, ginger, nettle, rooibos, lemongrass, lemon verbena, hibiscus and echinacea — through to blends we've developed ourselves, including our Organic Herbal Chai, Racy Hibiscus and Ginger and Lemongrass. If you know what you're after, the single herbs are the clearest place to start. If you're exploring, the blends are a good introduction.
A note on caffeine: most of our herbal teas are naturally caffeine-free. Our Yerba Mate and Matcha Green Tea do contain caffeine — we say so clearly on each product page.
Tea bags or loose leaf?
Most of our teas are available in both formats. Tea bags are the simpler option if you want a quick cup without any equipment. Loose leaf gives you more control over strength and works out better value per cup if you drink herbal tea regularly. Browse our tea bags or loose leaf sub-collections to find what suits you, or use the individual product pages to compare formats side by side.
Our packaging
Our tea bags are made in-house using a biodegradable, GMO-free unwoven filter mesh, in paper outer packaging. Our loose leaf teas are packed in resealable pouches, recyclable at supermarket collection points.
