Marine Collagen Powder — MSC Certified | Norwegian Wild-Caught | 95%+ Protein

Our Marine Collagen Powder is made from a single ingredient: hydrolysed collagen peptides from wild-caught North Atlantic fish, produced in Norway under MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certification. The same marine collagen that underpins some of the most respected collagen products in Europe — pure, additive-free, and packed by our small family team in Leicestershire. Not organic (collagen is animal-derived, not a crop), but rigorously certified for fisheries sustainability, traceability, and quality at every stage.

About the collagen

Marine collagen is a structural protein found in fish skin and connective tissue. To make it suitable for use as a powder, the collagen is enzymatically hydrolysed — broken down into smaller peptides that dissolve instantly in water and are readily absorbed. Our collagen is produced in Norway from the skin of MSC certified wild-caught fish from the North Atlantic and Pacific Oceans: cod (Gadus morhua), haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus), saithe (Pollachius virens), Pacific cod (Gadus macrocephalus), and Alaska pollock (Gadus chalcogrammus).

The average molecular weight is approximately 3 kDa (3,000 Daltons) — a fine, granulated powder grade that dissolves instantly in both cold and hot liquids without graininess, clumping, or taste. The protein content is ≥95g per 100g, with zero carbohydrate and negligible fat. It is the most concentrated and cleanest form of marine collagen peptides available.

What is MSC certification?

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is the world’s leading independent standard for sustainable wild-capture fisheries. MSC certification means the fishery has been independently audited to verify that fish stocks are healthy and well-managed, fishing practices minimise environmental impact, and full traceability is maintained from sea to shelf. Our collagen carries the MSC blue fish label — one of the most trusted marks in sustainable seafood and marine ingredient sourcing.

Which size is right for you?

We suggest a serving of two heaped tablespoons (approximately 15g) per day — more than double the serving size of most marine collagen products on the market. You can of course take less and extend the supply.

Size At 15g/day (suggested) At 7.5g/day (lighter) Cost per day at 15g
225g 15 days 30 days ~£1.50
450g 30 days 60 days ~£1.33

Many lower-cost marine collagen products suggest a serving of around 7g per day. At 7g per day, our 450g pack provides over 64 days of supply — the difference is the serving size and the quality of the source, not the price of the collagen itself.

Ways to use it

  • Morning coffee — our personal favourite. Stir two heaped tablespoons directly into your morning coffee and it is virtually undetectable — no graininess, no flavour change, just coffee. It dissolves completely in seconds and makes the simplest possible daily routine: one drink, done. This is how we take it at home, first thing.
  • Cold water or juice — stir into a glass of cold water, juice, or squash; it dissolves instantly and leaves no taste
  • Tea or other hot drinks — stir directly into any hot drink; dissolves quickly and does not affect flavour
  • Smoothies — blend in with other ingredients; the powder integrates seamlessly
  • Porridge or yoghurt — stir into breakfast; neutral taste means it is undetectable
  • Soups and broths — stir into a warm liquid; ideal for a savoury daily routine

Why choose ours?

  • MSC certified — the gold standard for sustainable marine sourcing. Independently audited fisheries from the North Atlantic and Pacific, with full chain of custody traceability.
  • Wild-caught North Atlantic fish. Cod, haddock, saithe, and pollock — not farmed, not blended with cheaper sources.
  • ≥95% protein content. Virtually pure protein — no carbohydrate, negligible fat, minimal salt.
  • 3 kDa molecular weight. A fine peptide grade that dissolves instantly in cold or hot water without graininess.
  • 100% pure — no additives whatsoever. One ingredient. Nothing added to improve flowability, extend shelf life, or reduce cost.
  • Compostable, resealable pouches. The only product in our range supplied in home-compostable stand-up pouches — chosen specifically for marine collagen because of its premium provenance and our commitment to matching the packaging to the product.
  • Packed in small batches in Leicestershire. By our family-run team in a SALSA-approved facility.
  • Not suitable for vegans or vegetarians. Marine collagen is derived from fish — suitable for pescatarians.

Frequently asked questions

What fish is the collagen made from?

Our marine collagen is made from the skin of MSC certified wild-caught cod (Gadus morhua), haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus), saithe (Pollachius virens), Pacific cod (Gadus macrocephalus), and Alaska pollock (Gadus chalcogrammus), sourced from the North Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

What does MSC certified mean?

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is the world’s leading independent body for sustainable wild-capture fisheries. MSC certification means the fishery has been independently audited to verify sustainable fish stock management, low environmental impact, and full traceability from sea to finished product. It is the most credible sustainability certification available for wild-caught marine ingredients.

What does 3 kDa molecular weight mean?

Molecular weight indicates the size of the collagen peptides after hydrolysis. At 3 kDa (3,000 Daltons), the peptides are very small — fine enough to dissolve instantly in cold water and to be readily taken up by the body. A lower molecular weight generally corresponds to better solubility. Our collagen dissolves completely in cold water in seconds with no graininess.

Does it really dissolve in coffee without any taste?

Yes — this is genuinely our preferred way to take it. Two heaped tablespoons stirred into a morning coffee and it is virtually unnoticeable. The powder is completely neutral in taste and odour, and dissolves fully in hot drinks within seconds. It does not affect the flavour, texture, or appearance of coffee in any meaningful way. A simple, consistent way to make it part of an existing morning routine.

How much should I take per day?

We suggest two heaped tablespoons (approximately 15g) per day. This is a generous serving — many lower-cost marine collagen products suggest around 7g per day. You can take less and extend the supply, or split the serving across two drinks during the day. There is no regulated upper limit for collagen peptides as a food ingredient.

Why is this more expensive than other marine collagen powders?

Many marine collagen products are cheaper — but at a suggested serving of around 7g per day. At 7g per day, our 450g pack provides over 64 days of supply. The difference is the serving size and the quality of the source: MSC certified, Norwegian-produced, wild-caught North Atlantic fish collagen is among the highest-quality marine collagen available.

Is marine collagen better than bovine collagen?

They are different rather than one being categorically better. Marine collagen is derived from fish and is predominantly Type I collagen peptides. Bovine collagen comes from cattle and contains both Type I and Type III. The choice often comes down to dietary preference, sustainability values, and personal experience. Marine collagen from MSC certified wild-caught fish is generally considered the more sustainably sourced option.

Does it have a taste?

No. The powder is completely neutral in taste and odour. It dissolves without affecting the flavour of whatever you mix it with — coffee, juice, water, or a smoothie.

Is this suitable for vegetarians or vegans?

No. Marine collagen is derived from fish skin and connective tissue. It is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. It is suitable for pescatarians.

Is this product organic?

No — collagen is an animal-derived protein and cannot be certified organic in the same way as plant ingredients. Our collagen is, however, MSC certified for sustainable fisheries, produced in Norway under rigorous food safety standards, and tested for heavy metals and contaminants.

How should I store it?

Store in the sealed pouch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Reseal the zip after each use. The collagen is low in moisture and stores well; just keep it away from humidity.

Also available as capsules

Prefer the convenience of a capsule? Our Marine Collagen Capsules contain the same Norwegian hydrolysed marine collagen in a 300mg HPMC capsule — no measuring, no mixing. At a 2-capsule serving (600mg per day), the capsules are a convenient daily maintenance format rather than the higher-serving option the powder provides. Available in our plastic-free aluminium tin or paper refill pouch.
