Organic Hibiscus Capsules — 700mg | Pure Hibiscus sabdariffa Flower Powder

Our Organic Hibiscus Capsules contain a single ingredient: certified organic hibiscus flower powder (Hibiscus sabdariffa), sourced from Egypt and encapsulated at our family-run facility in Leicestershire. The same Egyptian hibiscus we use in our tea bags and loose tea — finely milled and packed into a plant-based HPMC capsule for those who prefer the convenience of a supplement over brewing. Soil Association certified, completely additive-free, and available in our plastic-free tin and paper pouch formats.

Which size is right for you?

What’s inside — and what isn’t

Two ingredients. That’s the complete list.

  • Organic Hibiscus Flower Powder (Hibiscus sabdariffa) — 700mg per capsule
  • Capsule shell: Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC)

No magnesium stearate. No silicon dioxide. No fillers of any kind.

The capsule shell is HPMC — a plant-derived cellulose, entirely free from gelatine and suitable for vegans.

Why hibiscus?

Hibiscus sabdariffa — known as karkade in Egypt and across the Arab world — has been consumed as a food and herbal preparation for centuries across the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caribbean. We source our hibiscus from Egypt, where the climate of the Nile Valley produces flowers with an unusually high concentration of the deep red calyces that give the plant its characteristic colour and tart, cranberry-like flavour. Our capsules use the same certified organic Egyptian flowers as our teas, dried and finely milled into a smooth powder — delivering the same botanical in a concentrated, no-brew format.

Why choose ours?

  • 700mg pure hibiscus flower powder per capsule. A meaningful dose with no dilution from fillers — up to 2,800mg at the full four-capsule daily dose.
  • The same hibiscus as our teas. Identical certified organic Egyptian Hibiscus sabdariffa source — just in capsule form for convenience.
  • Soil Association certified organic. Every batch independently audited to the UK’s most rigorous organic standard.
  • Completely additive-free. No flowing agents, no binders, no anti-caking agents — hibiscus flower powder and an HPMC shell, nothing else.
  • Made in-house in Leicestershire. Milled, encapsulated, and packed by our small family team in a SALSA-approved facility — not outsourced.
  • Vegan HPMC capsule shell. Plant-derived cellulose, no gelatine, suitable for all diets.
  • Plastic-free packaging. Reusable aluminium tin or 100% paper refill pouch — both kerbside recyclable.

How to take them

Take 2 to 4 capsules daily with water, ideally with food. You can take them together or split across the day. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake of four capsules.

Full ingredients

  • Organic Hibiscus Flower Powder (Hibiscus sabdariffa) — 700mg per capsule
  • Capsule shell: Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC)

Free from: magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, talc, fillers, binders, and flowing agents of any kind.

Allergen information: May contain traces of nuts. Hibiscus sabdariffa is commonly grown in close proximity to peanut crops — in some growing regions the two plants share the same fields or rotate on the same land — which means trace nut cross-contamination in the raw harvested material cannot be fully excluded. If you have a peanut or nut allergy, please seek advice from your GP before use.

Frequently asked questions

What is karkade — and why does it come in capsule form?

Karkade is the Egyptian and Arabic name for hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa), one of the most widely consumed botanical preparations in the world. Our capsules offer the same certified organic Egyptian hibiscus as our tea bags and loose tea — for those who prefer a fixed daily dose without brewing, or who simply don’t enjoy drinking hibiscus as a tea.

How much hibiscus is in each capsule?

Each capsule contains 700mg of certified organic hibiscus flower powder. The daily dose ranges from 1,400mg (2 capsules) to 2,800mg (4 capsules) depending on which size you choose. Each pot is a 30-day supply at its intended dose: 60 capsules at 2 per day, 90 at 3, and 120 at 4.

Which size should I buy?

The 60-capsule size at two capsules a day is a practical starting point for a full month. The 90 and 120-capsule sizes deliver a higher daily amount of hibiscus powder and offer better value per capsule — the 120-capsule size is the best value option overall.

Is hibiscus powder the same as hibiscus tea?

The botanical is the same — certified organic Hibiscus sabdariffa flowers from Egypt. In the tea format, the dried flowers are infused in hot water and discarded; in the capsule format, the flowers are finely milled into a powder and encapsulated whole. The capsule delivers the complete dried flower material rather than just what steeps out in water.

Are these capsules vegan?

Yes. The shells are made from HPMC (Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose), a plant-derived cellulose. There is no gelatine and no animal-derived ingredient anywhere in the product.

Why do hibiscus capsules have a nut allergen warning?

Hibiscus sabdariffa is commonly grown in close proximity to peanut crops — in some growing regions the two plants share the same fields or rotate on the same land. This means trace cross-contamination in the raw harvested material cannot be fully excluded. If you have a peanut or nut allergy, consult your GP before use.

Where are these capsules made?

The hibiscus flowers are sourced from Egypt. They are then milled and encapsulated by our family-run team in Leicestershire, UK, in a SALSA-approved production facility.

What’s the difference between the tin and the pouch?

The reusable aluminium tin is solid, resealable, and built to last. The 100% paper refill pouch contains exactly the same product — letterbox-friendly and designed to be decanted into your tin once empty. Both are plastic-free and kerbside recyclable.

How should I store these capsules?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the tin or pouch sealed between uses. Avoid humid environments such as bathrooms.

Certified organic. Additive-free. Made in Britain.

Pure Egyptian Hibiscus sabdariffa flower powder in a plant-based capsule — two ingredients, nothing added, made by our small family team in Leicestershire. The same hibiscus as our teas, in a format that fits any routine.
