Rich Nutritional Value of Flaxseeds
Flaxseeds are a rich source of protein. They also contain high levels of fibre, B vitamins and various essential minerals. Flaxseeds are a particularly good source of magnesium, potassium, thiamine and phosphorus, as well as an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids, especially for people who don’t eat enough meat or fish.
As a percentage of total fat content, flaxseed contains 53% omega 3 fatty acids, 18% omega 9 fatty acids and 6% omega 6 fatty acids; this is the perfect ratio of omega oils needed by the body. They are also a rich source of other antioxidant plant compounds, such as lignans.
Many Uses of Flax
Flax – also known as linseed – is cultivated in cool regions such as the Canadian prairies and the UK. The green, slender crop has pure-blue flowers and round fruit, each containing several brown, glossy seeds.
The Latin name for flax is Linum usitatissimum, meaning “most useful”. Flax is widely cultivated for its oil, which is used in various wood-finishing products. Its oil is also used in India as an ingredient in various curries and is also grown as an ornamental garden plant.
When used in textiles, the crop is commonly referred to as linen. The earliest evidence of people using flax as a textile was discovered in Georgia, where spun, dried and knotted wild flax fibres were uncovered in a cave dating back to the Upper Paleolithic, 30,000 years ago.

I like these organic seeds. I grind them as needed and sprinkle them easily on my salads and in my soups. I find that they work well for me, without leaving any unpleasant side effects. Good service from the Natural Health Markey.

Organic Bronze Flaxseed is very good anyone with problems with there bowels, I recommend this product.
Highly recommend, take two teaspoons, blended in your shakes, princkled on wheatabix, porridge.

Thank you for your question. Our flaxseed is grown in Latvia, however the country of origin does occasionally changedue to seasonal shortages, but it is always EU orgin. 🌿

Yes — our Organic Golden Flax Seeds are naturally soya-free and gluten-free. They’re made with just one ingredient: 100% pure golden flax seeds, with nothing added and nothing taken away.
That said, we don’t label our products as “free from” allergens like gluten or soy — even when they’re naturally free of them — and here’s why: as a small, family-run business, we simply don’t have the resources to carry out the extensive batch testing and certification required to make those official claims. The costs can be quite high, and rather than pass those on to our customers, we choose to be completely transparent instead.
So while flax seeds themselves don’t contain gluten or soy, we always recommend that anyone with a diagnosed allergy or sensitivity speak with a healthcare professional before trying something new.
