- 100% Pure Hawaiian Spirulina Powder
- Excellent source of Iron and Vitamins A, K1, K2 and B12
- Source of phycocyanin, GLA and SOD
- 60% complete protein by weight
- Rich source of antioxidants
Our Hawaiian Spirulina Powder has been grown in the pristine environment of Kona, Hawaii; this is important as microalgae can absorb contaminants from the environment. Harvested from tanks located in a biosecure zone, there is zero chance of contamination with genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Kona is the perfect place to grow Spirulina, grown in outdoor tanks harnessing the year-round warm temperatures and using water filtered by lava rock in Hawaii’s Aquifers.
Grown With Deep Ocean Water
Using Ocean Chill Drying eliminates oxidation and damage to carotenoids, enzymes and other fragile nutrients and preserves phytonutrients. Deep ocean water is pumped from 2000 feet below sea level to provide de-humidification.
Why Should I use Spirulina?
Spirulina contains roughly 60% digestible proteins and every essential amino acid. It also has more carotenoids than any other whole food, and it’s a rich source of Vitamins A, K, and B12 and minerals iron, manganese and chromium. Spirulina is also the best single source of gamma-linoleic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid that plays a critical role in normal growth and development and is rich in chlorophyll, trace elements, vitamins, minerals and enzymes.
Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) is contained in Spirulina; this is an enzyme that is a potent antioxidant.
So, what does all the above mean? In short, we are currently recommended to eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables daily; a 3g serving of our Hawaiian Spirulina contains roughly the same amount of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and enzymes as 5 portions of fruit and vegetables!
What Is Spirulina?
Spirulina is a blue-green microalga that has been used as a food for centuries, growing naturally in freshwater lakes and ponds in warmer climates. As a result, it is widely considered the most naturally complete nutrient known to us.
Why Hawaiian Spirulina?
Grown in a biozone with zero environmental pollution Hawaiian Spirulina has roughly double the levels of essential nutrients compared to Spirulina grown in other regions of the world. This is partly due to the naturally perfect growing conditions Hawaii experiences all year round and the pure lava-filtered water used to produce the Spirulina.
Safety Risks Associated With Spirulina
As with all protein-rich foods, Spirulina contains the essential amino acid phenylalanine; this should be avoided by people who are known to have phenylketonuria, a rare genetic disorder, and Spirulina should be avoided by those who carry it. In addition, Spirulina contains naturally occurring sulphites.
