    Natural remedy guru, Andrew Weil, M.D., recommends a tincture comprised of three parts liquid lobelia (available at most herbal retail stores) and one part cayenne pepper. Capsaicin, the active compound of cayenne, is scientifically proven to increase circulation and reduce inflammation throughout the body. Curb asthma symptom severity by mixing 20 drops of this solution with lukewarm water. Consume up to four doses for maximum relief. 

    Inhale Your Way to Bronchitis Relief with Peppermint Or Eucalyptus Oil

    As mucus membranes in bronchial tubes become inflamed, due to viral infections or asthma, airway walls thicken and breathing ease is dramatically reduced. While healthy adults tend to rid these symptoms without the use of medications, home remedies for asthma may boost healing and recovery time by reducing symptoms such as mucus accumulation and airway inflammation.

    Peppermint & Eucalyptus Oil

    Combat mucus build-up and relieve symptom severity by mixing peppermint essential oil or eucalyptus oil with steaming-hot water. The University of Maryland Medical Centre states the active ingredient of peppermint, menthol, reduces bronchitis and other respiratory tract ailments by supporting the expulsion of mucus from bronchial tubes.

    Half fill a medium sized saucepan with water and boil and  transfer the water to a heat-resistant container. As the steam rises, add four-to-five drops of peppermint oil and drape and towel over your head. Leaning your head over the steam, deeply inhale the peppermint-infused steam for three-to-five minutes. Have plenty tissues on hand, as phlegm and mucus will be bought up from your lungs. Repeat as needed to provide bronchitis symptom relief.
