WHY CHOOSE CARROT AND HUMMUS WRAPS?

Carrot and hummus wraps are incredibly easy to make and perfect whether you’re going out to work or play. They also have lots of beneficial ingredients. For example, chickpeas, which hummus is made from, have lots of fibre – two cups satisfy your daily fibre requirement!

The chickpeas in hummus help to regulate blood fat levels, cholesterol and triglycerides. They also support the digestive system because they are mostly made up of insoluble fibre, which protects your intestinal wall. Also, it significantly reduces the risk of colon cancer.

One cup of cooked chickpea hummus provides a significant amount of fibre, folate, protein, iron, and copper; the antioxidants that decrease cardiovascular risk and regulate blood sugar; and satiety, which leaves you feeling full.

CARROT AND HUMMUS WRAPS: NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS

Carrots contain large amounts of nutrients. The nutrients in hummus protect against cardiovascular disease and inhibit the growth of cancer cells in the colon. Carrots are high in vitamins A, K, C, B6, B3, B1, B2, and E. They also contain fibre, potassium, and phosphorus. Carrots are also well known as protectors of vision health.

In a study done at UCLA, women who consume carrots twice a week were found to have lower rates of glaucoma. There are many carrots, such as red and purple varieties. This will make your lunch more colourful and exciting!

Rocket, a green, leafy vegetable high in phytochemicals, is known to counter the cancer-causing effects of oestrogen. Thus, it can help fight prostate, breast, cervical, colon, and ovarian cancers. It’s also a great source of vitamin A, protecting against skin, lung, and oral cancers. Finally, it’s also high in vitamin C, which is critical as winter, cold, and flu season approaches.
