Classic Chicken Soup Recipe Ingredients

  • 1.5 Kg – 2 Kg Chicken – Use the chicken carcase as well if you have it
  • 6 medium-sized carrots – scrubbed or peeled and cut into large chunky pieces
  • 1 large onion – cut chunkily quartered is fine
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt – any salt is acceptable if sea or rock salt is not available
  • 1 teaspoon of whole black peppercorns
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 4 medium-sized celery sticks
  • 1 teaspoon of coarsely chopped fresh parsley
