Harvested in the Cedarberg Mountain region of Western Cape, South Africa, our Rooibos tea bags comes from the spiritual home of Rooibos tea, also known as Red Bush tea.
Harvesting Rooibos Tea
Rooibos is grown for up to 18 months before being cut, lightly bruised and left to oxidise; this is when the leaves turn from a lush green to a vivid rust-red colour; it’s this oxidisation that gives rooibos or red bush if you prefer. Its distinctive mahogany red colour and also a flavour reminiscent of cherries and vanilla.
Naturally, sweet rooibos goes well with a twist of lemon, pleasant at any time of the day or night as it is caffeine-free.
We Love Red Bush Tea
We love Redbush Tea because it is never bitter due to its naturally sweet taste while being calorie-free. It tastes great hot and cold but does need to be brewed for a longer length of time than other teas. To drink it hot, pour freshly boiled water over a teabag and leave for 3-10 minutes, depending on the strength and taste you require. If you want to sweeten your Rooibos Tea further, you can add honey, coconut sugar or any other natural sweetener.
You can also drink Rooibos Tea as an iced tea; make it in the same way as you would for a hot tea; once it has steeped to the perfect strength for you, pour it over ice and enjoy; Redbush Tea is a great drink hot or cold to quench your thirst any time of the year.
